So, I’m going to fast from Social Media for 30 Days!
What is wrong with me?
Yeah, we’ll see if I can do it! But, last week I was on a morning walk and this thought just kept coming to mind. So, I prayed about it and decided.
Here’s the deal. I love social media. I love the constant flow of information. I love seeing what God is up to in the world. I love researching other churches and seeing how God is moving at those churches. I love seeing ways I can be praying for people. That’s all good stuff on social media.
But, I also know, I spend way too much time on social media. Surfing, looking, reading.
The thought hit me…what if I spent the same amount of time reading scripture or praying or reading books that cause my faith to grow?
So, I’m going to go for it.
I took Facebook and Instagram off of my phone. I don’t use twitter anymore. I am keeping my fitbit app.
And, I am going to still blog (although, I’ve only been spitting out a post a month lately) and so those posts will automatically post on my social media accounts and I’ll be posting adoption updates on our You Caring adoption website.
Again, I’m not in the camp that thinks social media is bad or Facebook is a waste of time. I just know that I need to take some time away.
So, here we go!
